The Valhalla Open: Playing It Forward for Veterans

On August 7, the fairways at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Brighton will once again host a day where sport, service, and community come together. The Valhalla Open returns for its third tournament, inviting golfers from across the region to tee off in support of an important cause.

The event raises funds for the Veterans Wellness Alliance, an organization focused on advocacy and support for veterans as they transition to life beyond military service.

The tournament is organized by a dedicated group of volunteers led by Mat Belear, Program Development Manager for ParaGolf Canada, along with fellow organizer Todd Keirstead, the CEO and founder of ParaGolf Canada.

The inaugural tournament in 2023 welcomed 45 players, and participation doubled the following year. Together, the first two tournaments have already contributed $10,000 to veteran-focused charities.

Registration for this year's tournament is already underway. To learn more or to register, visit thevalhallaopen.com.
